Join us at Camp Stoney, just 15 minutes southeast of Santa Fe for a weekend of music, dance and song. Check- in starts at 4:00pm Friday, followed by supper and a contra dance. Saturday will be filled with workshops, face painting, pumpkin carving as well as Nancy Judd's famous recycled costume creations. A pumpkin parade will lead into a wild evening of dancing at the Halloween Costume Ball. Sunday morning gospel singing will calm wild spirits followed by more music and dance workshops, and a farewell dance after lunch.

WHO'S CALLING??

Several years ago the calls of Larry Edelman graced and charged the dance floor of Folkmadness at Hummingbird. Larry returns for our fall camp with a wonderful mix of contras, square dances and a few oddities thrown in for spice.

WHO'S MAKING THE MUSIC??

The Sandia Hots (Scott Mathis, Linda Askew, Liz Stevens and Mike Gallagher) is our featured Boo band. Scott and Linda are charter members of FolkMADS and despite their recent defection to Colorado we welcome them and their ever-dancible music back to the land of enchantment.

Our fine local callers, musicians and singers will round out the weekend of fun and good times with the FolkMADS community.

Don't forget to bring your seasonal items to donate to the Halloween Raffle: costumes, props, carved pumpkins, decorations, anything Halloween or costume related. Proceeds go to the camp scholarship fund.

Enter the drawings and you could be wearing your winnings to the Dance!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Each heated cabin houses up to sixteen campers in bunks with shared shower houses & restrooms. Cabins are designated family, mixed-gender, or single-gender, and will be reserved on a first-come basis as registration forms are received. There is also ample space for RV's, campers and tents. Because camp is near Santa Fe, it is also possible to stay in town and come out each day. Some of the cabins will be used for workshops during the day.

MEALS

All meals are included in the registration fee, beginning with dinner on Friday at 6pm and ending with lunch at noon on Sunday. Great Snacks provided by all us campers will again be served between meals and after dinner. Please plan to bring something to share.

MAKING IT HAPPEN

Aside from guest artists, FolkMADS dance camps are run entirely by volunteers. Please sign up for a volunteer task at check-in. Let us know in advance if you have any special needs or talents. Parents (and all interested campers) will share in providing child activities. The family cabin will serve as the child activity center.

THE CLIMATE

Camp Stoney is nestled in rolling hills at 7500 feet. The weather can be anywhere from warm and sunny during the day to below freezing at night. Plan to bring warm bedding and a warm jacket for the evening,
