Boo Camp COVID Policy 2023

Boo Camp Home Page | Boo Camp Venue | Registration Information | Registration Form

We want our dance camp to be as safe as possible, while still gathering together.

With many dancers traveling from out of town, this policy may be more restrictive than FolkMADS general policy.

Requirements for All Participants

At Camp all dancers will be required to:

  • Be Fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC, meaning you have received at least one Booster shot.
    • You will be asked to show proof of vaccination as a part of registration or sign-in for camp
    • Contact Caitlin if you have a medical reason to not receive the vaccine and we will provide a test based alternative.
  • A negative rapid COVID test the day you arrive at camp
    • We will require everyone to bring their own rapid test. Purchase tests at your local pharmacy (details for Walgreens and CVS).
  • Certify you’ve had no close contact with a COVID positive person in the 5 days before arriving at camp.
  • Agree to our masking policy, detailed below.

If you cannot attend camp due to a positive test or close contact with a person testing positive we will provide you with a full refund. Masks may be required if COVID levels rise, but we will not cancel camp.

Masking Policy

As with local dances in New Mexico, we will only require masks if the community hospital admission levels severely increases.

We will be making decisions based on the CDC’s COVID Hospital Admission Levels in Bernalillo and Santa Fe counties (where most local dancers live). Our masking policy will be determined based on these colors:

  • Green: No masks required
  • Yellow: Masks recommended while dancing, not required
  • Red: Masks required while dancing

Recommendations

While we cannot expect people to upend their lives, we would like to request that everyone do their best to reduce the chance of arriving at camp sick (with anything). Below is a list of recommendations for the days and weeks leading up to camp to help protect our community.

  • Wear a mask indoors when not eating or drinking
  • Wear a mask on all public transport, especially while traveling to camp
  • Avoid unnecessary crowded, indoor spaces when possible
